Kristi ensures clients' alcohol/substance abuse treatment reflect their specific needs and that clients capitalize on the resources available to them. She provides both individual and group counseling.
My treatment focus has been in assisting adults who struggle with substance abuse, dual diagnosis behaviors that normally accompany substance abuse, self-injury, and anger. These conditions are stressful to family units and often result in non-communication, mistrust, and painful emotions. I focus on the family unit as a whole seeing as they are all suffering from the disease of addiction along with the family member who is addicted. It’s important that they heal together and relearn that family unity matters regardless of age.
I help clients discover their strengths, teach them how to build support systems, and teach them healthy lifestyles to establish a solid foundation from to build a successful life. By educating clients on The Disease Concept, they can better see the challenges they face and the methods of self-management that are available to them.
I’m California born and raised and this has allowed me to meet people from a multitude of backgrounds, belief systems, cultures, and races that helped hone my cultural awareness and sensitivity. This allows me to tailor my treatment approach to a client’s individual needs without using a one size fits all blanket approach. Treatment plans need to be as unique as the person coming to me for help.
